Women bring so much joy, hope, compassion, inspiration, vision, strength, influence, beauty, life and love to the world, just by being who they are.
Unfortunately, not all women are free or have the liberty they deserve.
In Canada, women and girls account for 90% of sexual trafficking victims, with Indigenous women roughly making up 50% of human trafficking victims overall. These numbers are likely low, as many victims do not come forward for fear of the stigma and the shame they may experience when people don't understand what happened to them. But, we can bring empathy and compassion to women that have endured this and empower survivors by believing them, supporting them, and lifting up their voices, so more women can find the courage to come out of the shadows towards their own journey of healing and empowerment.
