NEW CHAPTER ♡

In 2020, a brave survivor of human trafficking from three decades ago was inspired by a local woman's initiative to organize a march within the community of Grey-Bruce to raise awareness and see an end to human trafficking in our communities, and thus CARE Project Grey-Bruce was born.

Over the next two years, CARE Project took part in many community events for organizations and systems within Grey-Bruce and Ontario who might come into contact with other victims or survivors, which included the CARE Package Project in support of the Women's Centre Grey-Bruce, Walk4Freedom in support of Fight4Freedom, the Branding Tattoo Removal Initiative with Project iRise, bringing forth a 2-part online training for teens, Coldest Night of the Year in support of Safe n' Sound, and Ride Don't Hide Grey-Bruce in support of CMHA Grey-Bruce.

Last year, we created a short 4 minute video to raise more awareness about the issue of sexual trafficking, what it is, how it can happen, what are the signs, and how you can get help if you or someone you know is being trafficked. This video reached over 18 000 people and was later used as a teaching tool in the Human Trafficking Course at the Ontario Police College.

It's been a journey for sure! But, it has come time for a new chapter.

While we have made changes to our non-profit status, we will continue to keep our website updated to serve as an informational hub for those seeking information and support resources within the communities of Grey-Bruce.

Most importantly, thank you for all the support and love you have given us over these past two years! We couldn't have done it without you.

The CARE Project Team ♡
